Start and end dates for regular surveys

For data sources that are regular surveys that started many years back what should be declared as the start and end dates?

In ADAPT, a Data Source refers to a specific dataset, metadata set, and database or metadata repository, from which data or metadata are available for various indicators. An example would be the dataset from a specific instance of a regularly conducted Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS), which are nationally representative household surveys typically conducted about every 5 years in many countries. The start and end date for a specific data source in this case would refer to the time period to which, the statistical results derived therefrom refer to.

Thank you for your reply. So if the survey is named as a data source for an indicator logframe then the start and end dates would correspond with the start and end dates for which the logframe requires and not for the conduct of the survey series?

GayeP The start and end dates in a specific logframe indicates its own duration of validity. They bound the period of its monitoring. The observation value of an indicator demanded in a logframe may have different time period to which the observation value actually refers.
