In order to receive email notifications on new posts in an existing thread, click on "Follow" button next to it.
In order to receive email notifications when someone replies to your posts, click on your name in the upper right corner -> Settings -> activate - 'Someone replies to one of my posts'
In order to follow automatically discussions that you reply to, click on your name in the upper right corner -> Settings -> activate - 'Automatically follow discussions that I reply to'
